This Week in Package Theft – 6.0

Baby Andre put at risk by theft of medicated formula

Welcome to This Week in Package Theft. We are seeing an increase in package theft, so if we can help expose the people doing this and ideas on how to stop them, we think that is a good thing.

Each week, we’ll feature two package theft videos or stories from around the web and bring you rants, raves, tips, tricks, advice and a place to share ideas on how to help stop package theft.  Come join us at TWIPT.

Here’s a few stories from last week. Please remember to look out for your packages and your neighbors.

This one’s a story with a thicker plot than what we’re used to seeing here at TWIPT. The homeowner is not only a victim of package theft, but also identity theft. Looks like the thieves planned to have credit cards delivered to the address, and then swiped the FedEx package containing the cards moments after they were delivered. Within just a few hours, they racked up thousands of dollars in purchases and cash advances.

The mom in this story has been through so much, and as a new mom, it’s heartbreaking to read. Package thieves stole her baby’s only source of food. This is the lowest of low. Lower than low. How as humans are we able to take food from a baby!? I seriously hope a good case of Karma gets this package thief and that no harm comes to the mom and baby ever again.

Unsolicited advice: Homeowners, use a security device in addition to cameras since they seem to deter no one.
